Rhubarb Bread

1 ½ cups brown sugar                         

2 ½ cups flour

1/3 salad oil                                         

½ tsp. cinnamon

1 egg                                                   

¼ tsp. nutmeg

1 tsp. vanilla                                        

1 ½ cups diced rhubarb

1 cup sour cream                                

½ cup chopped nuts

1 tsp. baking soda                               

½ cup golden raisins 

Combine first four ingredients in large mixing bowl.  Mix together sour cream and baking soda and set aside.  Mix flour, cinnamon and nutmeg; set aside.  Add flour and sour cream mixtures alternately until well blended.  Add fruit and nuts.  Pour into two greased loaf pans and top with a mixture of ½ cup sugar and 1 tsp. butter.  Bake at 350 degrees for about one hour.
