How to place a Farmers Market Order

For years, Kuhn Orchards has been willing to take special orders from our customers for produce that they plan to pick up at market.  We have operated on good faith that the customer will show up and pay for the item.  However, we have had many instances where customers have not picked up items that they ordered or asked us to save for them, and often, we could have sold these items to other interested customers.

So after much thinking and discussion, we have decided that we will now only take prepaid orders from our customers.  This is especially important to us in a year where we have had lots of freeze damage in the spring, and have such a limited supply of certain fruits.  It is always best to arrive early at market in order to chose from the best selection of produce available.
In addition to requiring payment upfront for the order, we are also now asking customers to please call our office (717-334-2722) to place an order instead of making arrangements with market staff.  With our limited supply, we’d hate for a farmers market employee to take an order, only to realize when they return to the farm that we do not have the produce to fill the order.  When you call our office to make your order, please have your credit card information on hand, so our office staff can take down that information to process your payment.  We will forward to you an email receipt of your order payment.  In order to have ample time to prepare your order, please call 2 days prior to the market day in which you would like the item(s).  We hope you understand and we appreciate your cooperation.
