Jewish Apple Cake

Ingredients
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2½ cups sugar
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 eggs
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 ½ tsp vanilla
  • ⅓ cup orange juice
  • 6 apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 3 Tbl. sugar
  • ¼ tsp. nutmeg
  • ½ tsp. allspice
Instructions
  1. Mix together flour, 2 ½ c. sugar, oil, eggs, salt, baking powder, vanilla & orange juice. Batter will be very thick.
  2. Peel and slice apples and add 3 Tbl. sugar and spices and stir well.
  3. Layer the batter and apples into a greased tube pan. First layer is batter, then apples , batter and top with remaining apples.
  4. Bake at 350° F for about 1 ½ to 2 hours.
